UAE, UK, Australia sign aviation security deal

DUBAI: The governments of the UAE, the UK and Australia on Wednesday signed an agreement to increase cooperation and collaboration regarding airline security.

The UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement that the agreement, one of the first based on new principles developed by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), will bring operational benefits and faster transfer times for travellers.

Philip Parham, UK Ambassador to the UAE, said, “This agreement will strengthen the efforts of all three countries to counter international terrorism and to keep passengers safe. The more we collaborate, the safer we will be.”
